About the tile

The whole tile has to be seen as a location guide of its origin: The dominant motif is a reverence to Pacific tapacloth patterns. The star constellation is the Southern Cross, also found on the New Zealand flag and a central navigation guide for sailors. The top motif is a wave pattern, the dominant feature of life on an island. The left symbol is new shoot of a fern tree, called a koru. The bottom inscription is a high-tech way of finding us.
